
Banda Aceh – The Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), conducted a LAMSAMA field assessment over two days, from April 27 to 28, 2026. This activity represents a crucial stage in evaluating the academic quality and governance of the study program.
The assessment was carried out by two appointed assessors: Prof. Dr. Dra. Dyah Iswantini Pradono, M.Sc.Agr. from Institut Pertanian Bogor and Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Nuryono, M.S. from Universitas Gadjah Mada. The event involved university leaders, faculty representatives, study program management, and various supporting units.
The opening ceremony took place at the FMIPA USK Auditorium on Monday (April 27), featuring welcoming remarks from the Vice Rector III of USK, Prof. Mustanir, and the Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Taufik Abidin. The session continued with the introduction of the assessors followed by a group photo with all participants.
Throughout the first day, several key sessions were conducted, including discussions with the leadership of the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) regarding institutional development policies, verification of the Study Program Performance Report (LKPS), and confirmation of the Self-Evaluation Report (LED). The assessors also held interviews with lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders to gather insights on performance, engagement, and satisfaction levels.
In addition, the assessors carried out a site visit to review supporting facilities, including laboratories and information systems utilized within the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program.
On the second day, Tuesday (April 28), the agenda focused on the presentation of the draft assessment report and accreditation recommendations, feedback sessions with the study program and UPPS, as well as the formal submission and verification of the assessment report.
The event concluded with a wrap-up session and the delivery of accreditation recommendations by the panel of assessors. This process is expected to provide an objective evaluation of the program’s academic implementation and serve as a foundation for continuous improvement.
The Head of the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program, Dr. Khairi, S.Si., M.Si., stated that the assessment serves as an important momentum to further enhance academic quality and institutional governance, enabling the program to become more competitive at both national and international levels.
