Banda Aceh, August 18, 2026 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) continues to strengthen its academic governance through the official appointment of several academic leaders within the Chemistry Department. The appointment letters, or Decrees (SK), were formally handed over during a ceremony held at the FMIPA Senate Room on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
The appointment letters were presented by the Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Ilham Maulana, together with the Vice Deans of FMIPA USK. The ceremony marked the official appointment of three key academic leaders: Dr. Khairi, M.Si., as Head of the Chemistry Department; Prof. Dr. Binawati Ginting, M.Si., as Secretary of the Chemistry Department; and Dr. Elly Sufriadi, M.Si., as Head of the Master’s Program in Chemistry.
The appointment of Dr. Khairi, M.Si. for a second term as Head of the Chemistry Department marked an important moment in the ceremony. His continuation in the position reflects the institution’s confidence in his leadership, experience, and contributions to the development of the Chemistry Department during his previous term.
Entering his second term, Dr. Khairi is expected to continue advancing the department’s academic and institutional programs while further strengthening academic governance, education, research, and collaboration. His continued leadership is also expected to support the department in responding to emerging challenges and opportunities in higher education and the field of chemistry.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Binawati Ginting, M.Si. has been entrusted with the role of Secretary of the Chemistry Department. Her position plays an important role in supporting academic and administrative coordination, as well as facilitating the implementation of various departmental programs and institutional activities.
At the postgraduate level, Dr. Elly Sufriadi, M.Si. has been appointed as Head of the Master’s Program in Chemistry. Her appointment is expected to further strengthen the management and academic quality of the program, particularly in postgraduate education, research, and the development of highly qualified human resources in chemistry.
The Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Ilham Maulana, emphasized the importance of commitment, collaboration, and collective responsibility in carrying out the duties entrusted to the newly appointed academic leaders. The appointments are expected to strengthen coordination across the faculty and department while supporting the continuous improvement of academic quality and institutional governance.
