Banda Aceh, April 04, 2026, The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), held the inauguration ceremony for the 2026 management of the Chemistry Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Kimia / HMK).
The event took place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the FMIPA Faculty. The ceremony marked the official transition of leadership from the previous chairman, Salman Alfarisi, to the newly appointed chairman, Hendri Asmawi Ihsan.
The inauguration was led by the Head of the Chemistry Department, Dr. Khairi, M.Si, who formally inducted the new board members. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of leadership, collaboration, and innovation in advancing student organizations.
Carrying the theme “Strengthening Synergy in One Bond, Creating Real Work for Sustainable Change,” the event highlighted the commitment of the new HMK management to fostering unity and delivering meaningful contributions.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including the Head of the Chemistry Department, Dr. Khairi, M.Si; the Student Affairs Coordinator of the Chemistry Department, Agnia Purnama, M.Si; the outgoing HMK management of the 2025 period; representatives of student organizations within FMIPA; the newly appointed HMK 2026 management; as well as invited guests.
The inauguration not only symbolized the continuity of organizational leadership but also served as a momentum to strengthen collaboration among students and academic stakeholders. It is expected that the new HMK leadership will bring fresh ideas and initiatives that contribute positively to both the department and the wider academic community.
