Banda Aceh, September 9, 2026 – The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) welcomed an educational visit from SMA Cut Meutia Banda Aceh on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The visit was part of an educational program aimed at providing students with broader insights into higher education, particularly in the field of chemistry and laboratory-based scientific activities.
The visit, which began at 9:00 a.m., was attended by 27 students and 6 teachers from SMA Cut Meutia Banda Aceh. According to the visit request, the activity was intended to provide students with opportunities to gain educational insights, become familiar with laboratory facilities, and receive motivation to pursue higher education.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA USK, including its academic environment and laboratory activities that support science education. The participants also had the opportunity to observe scientific demonstrations designed to make chemistry more engaging and accessible.
One of the highlights of the visit was the “Fire Hand” experiment, which attracted considerable interest from the students. The visually engaging demonstration served not only as an exciting experience but also as an educational medium for introducing basic chemical concepts through observable scientific phenomena.
Through hands-on demonstrations and laboratory activities, the students were encouraged to develop greater curiosity about chemistry.
