The Department of Chemistry held an Orientation Program for New Students of the Master’s Program in Chemistry on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Senate Room of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Khairi, M.Sc., and the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Chemistry, Dr. Surya Lubis, M.Sc., along with faculty members and administrative staff.

The program aimed to introduce the academic environment, learning system, as well as academic regulations and ethics to the new students of the Master’s Program in Chemistry, FMIPA USK, for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. In his welcoming remarks, the Head of the Department expressed his congratulations and warm welcome, encouraging students to adapt quickly and take an active role in academic and research activities within the department.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Chemistry provided an overview of the curriculum structure, thesis supervision system, and research opportunities, including potential collaborations with faculty members and research institutions. Students were also introduced to laboratory facilities, reading rooms, and academic information systems that support their learning process.

The event proceeded in a warm and interactive atmosphere and concluded with a Q&A session and a group photo with all participants and lecturers. Through this activity, it is expected that new students will gain a deeper understanding of the vision, mission, and academic culture upheld by the Master’s Program in Chemistry.
